Planning Commission - Hillsborough County The local planning agency of the cities of Tampa, Plant City, Temple Terrace and Hillsborough County.

We serve the citizens of Hillsborough County, City of Plant City, City of Temple Terrace, and the City of Tampa by providing a vision for improving the quality of life. We are an independent, consolidated planning agency, led by 10 citizen appointees from all 4 local jurisdictions. We promote and coordinate comprehensive long-range planning, growth-management, transportation, and environmental protection, as we make our recommendations to the local jurisdictions.

Tampa, at last night's City Council meeting, the final pieces of a four-year-long Comprehensive Plan update process passed their first reading! The Future Land Use, Housing, and Coastal Management Sections are now all on their way to a second reading in November. We want to thank all those who participated in this process. From our residents to our partners to our elected and appointed officials, we appreciate you joining us in over 50 meetings, providing over 2,000 comments, and helping shape your community’s future over the last four years. We will see you at the second reading and adoption hearing in November!
