Here is an updated list of demands after the deadly Ybor City police chase! We want increased safety for our community and accountability for the officers who engaged in the Ybor City police chase. We are also hoping to help facilitate a memorial for the victims of the chase!

General Body Meeting Tomorrow!

Some pictures from our Ybor Speaks Townhall on the Ybor police chase that resulted in the death of 4 and injury to many more. We discussed our demands based on our canvassing of Ybor & heard first hand from someone who was there the night of the incident. We also heard from a family member of Sherman Jones, who shared with us the joyful memories she had with her family member, and emphasizes the importance of holding the police who engaged in the chase accountable for their actions.

Please help us fundraise for Kieanna Garrett! She is serving time for a BOGUS misdemeanor conviction, and we’re helping to raise money to cover her legal fees.

We see all this as a sign of weakness and cowardice on the part of Lakeland PD, the city of Lakeland, and the state as a whole; this is an attempt to silence Kieanna and TAARPR who have been working to expose the corrupt and rotted policing system that has historically worked to harm and disenfranchise Black communities in Lakeland and beyond. However, we are not deterred. We will continue to fight for Kieanna as we have all these years, and we refuse to back down!
