Sunshine, great company, and big catches — the 5th annual Reel Animals Classic Fishing Tournament had it all! We started the day with breakfast at Hula Bay Club before the boats hit the water. Afterward, everyone gathered for lunch, the awards ceremony, and a lively card draw and auction. Huge congrats to Steve Nichols, our 2024 Grand Slam winner!
Our sincerest appreciation to Capt Mike Anderson (Reel Animals Fishing Show) for his dedication to our mission and the kids and families we serve.
We are grateful to our event sponsors for their support:

We’re proud to have been a beneficiary of the Primrose School of Carrollwood’s annual Spring Fling since 2016. The continued support of their staff, families, and partners means the world to us. A heartfelt thank‑you to the entire Primrose family — including the amazing Pre‑K students who presented this year’s $1,900 donation.

Volunteer Appreciation Month may be ending, but our gratitude is just getting started! 🎉We’re proud to honor our Volunteer Group of the Year: Gold Street Garden Church. Their team has shown up month after month to host engaging, interactive field days for the youth at Kids Village. As a group, they’ve dedicated an incredible 1,242 hours this year and we are deeply grateful for their generosity and the joy they bring to our kids. (Group members are pictured here with CHN's CEO, Irene Rickus.)
Volunteer Coordinator River Anderson says, "“We as a church body are deeply touched and honored to be recognized as Volunteer Group of the Year. It is truly a gift to partner with CHN, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside such an impactful organization."

As we continue celebrating Volunteer Appreciation Month, we’re thrilled to honor our Volunteer of the Year: Dustin Diaz.
For the past year, Dustin has visited Kids Village every month to give our kids haircuts—listening to what they want, helping them feel confident, and reminding them they matter.
Dustin shared, “Volunteering with Children’s Home Network means a lot to me. Through God, I’ve been given the chance to show up for kids who just need to feel seen, valued, and remembered. I know what it feels like to be overlooked, so if I can make a difference in even one child’s life, that’s everything to me."
Thank you, Dustin, for using your time, talent, and heart to lift up our kids.

It’s Volunteer Appreciation Month, and our gratitude is overflowing. This past year, countless volunteer groups have touched every corner of our residential campus — sorting donations, washing vehicles, decorating for the holidays, painting, cleaning, and so much more. Thanks to you, Kids Village truly feels like home for our boys and girls.
