I am not sure how I ended up this email list but this is good stuff!
A look ahead.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and experienced everything the holiday represents.
After a relatively light agenda the last 2 months, this workshop is full. From hot topic issues like sexual predator housing in Ybor and the proliferation of Planned Developments to outlining the role the new budget analyst will play, there's an issue for everyone.
Prior to the workshop council will be meeting briefly to discuss managing their agendas. I hope realistic time blocking is one. Thursday's agenda has 9 items, some with presentations from staff, some that will surely have all 7 members speaking at least once on the item. With an evening council meeting at 5 and an hour break for lunch, squeezing all the items in and giving them legitimate delibaration will be a challenge. I suspect more than one of the items will be either withdrawn or continued.
The items as listed on the draft agenda are:
Budget Analyst
Contract Admin
Capital Improvement Projects Update
Sexual Predators in Ybor
Entertainment Districts
Promote Housing
Updates to Land Development Code July 23 Cylce
Planned Developments
Tree Canopy Report
As you can see, that's a lot to cover. I break down the items a little more in detail on the site and you can read the full look ahead here.
The evening session for Council is alcohol applications and are all first readings. I will review the items after council hears them and if any are controversial I will highlight them in the next newsletter. You can view the addresses and applicants in the evening agenda
