You may be hearing about another change to the SNAP food assistance program: Florida will soon be responsible for paying part of the cost of SNAP benefits.

That is a change in how the program is funded at the state level. It does not, by itself, tell us today how an individual household’s benefits will change.

Other SNAP rules have already changed, so watch for notices from the Florida Department of Children and Families and MyACCESS for information that applies specifically to your household.

Feeding Tampa Bay is here to help you understand the latest information.

Bridging the gap between our senior neighbors and the resources they deserve. 💛 Today we officially cut the ribbon on our new S'well (Senior Wellness) Bus!

Caring for the seniors in our community means making sure they never feel isolated or lack basic necessities. That’s why the S'well Bus is hitting the road! Here’s how we’re rolling out support:
🏠 Door-To-Door Pickups: We pick up seniors right from their homes and bring them directly to our Causeway Center so getting out and about is stress-free.

🍲 A Hot Lunch & Warm Smiles: A fresh meal shared with friends at our center.

🍎 Free Market Groceries: Seniors can take home healthy groceries to keep their pantries stocked.

🏥 Health Resources: On-site care and guidance to keep our older neighbors feeling their best.

Head to ftb.org/swell to learn more about the S'well Bus and how it’s supporting local seniors!

A meal at Trinity Cafe is about more than satisfying hunger, it’s about restoring hope and connecting neighbors to health and resources that pave the way toward long-term stability. Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and friend who has supported Trinity Cafe over the last 25 years!

If you receive SNAP food assistance, there are a few changes worth knowing about.

New work and report reporting require requirements now apply to more adults, and some previous exemptions have been removed. And what you can buy has also changed.

Since April 20, 2026, Florida SNAP benefits can no longer be used to purchase soda, energy drinks, candy or prepared desserts. The rules that apply to you depend on your household and circumstances. Feeding Tampa Bay can help you understand what’s changed and what to do next.

🥜 3,000 POUNDS OF PEANUT BUTTER! 🥜

Did you know? Every September during Hunger Action Month, The Cheesecake Factory hosts a Peanut Butter Drive to raise funds and collect peanut butter for local Feeding America food banks across the country.

Peanut butter is packed with essential protein and healthy fats, helping students stay focused at school and giving adults the energy needed to thrive at work. Because high-protein items are often among the most expensive groceries on the shelf, providing nutritious staples like peanut butter helps families stretch their grocery budgets further while expanding access to healthy food across our service area.

By delivering immediate relief to local tables, support like this helps build a healthier, more resilient community for everyone.
