1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a fun early literacy program for young children. Reading to children early and often is key to school & learning success. Sign up to keep track of each book read and celebrate reading milestones along the way at HCPLC.org/1000Books.

Fun fact: Read 1 book a day and you can reach 1,000 books in a little over 2 and a half years. Of course, you don't have to only read one book a day!

Amazing!

On this day in 1997, the New Tampa Regional Library was dedicated! Located at 10001 Cross Creek Boulevard, the 25,000-square-foot building is situated next to a small lake and a wooded area to the south, offering a panoramic view of a natural Florida habitat. The Jeri Zelinski Community Room, named in honor of the woman who worked tirelessly to bring a library to the New Tampa community, was dedicated posthumously on September 25, 2004. Zelinski, a retired librarian, led petition drives, formed alliances, and prodded developers to donate land for the library.

Our big book sale at the New Tampa Regional Library is running until 5PM today with a huge inventory of books. Adult, teens and children’s books. Sale is still running tomorrow 10 AM to 4PM with fresh inventory added to what we have. Most books are 50 cents. Most books 50 cents.

Plan on flying out of the country any time soon from Tampa International Airport? Make sure you have a valid up-to-date passport before you make your travel plans. The library has four locations which accept applications for new adult and juvenile passports. You can find more information at HCPLC.org/Passport.

The Friends of the Library are having our book sale May 1 at 10AM to 5PM and May 2 at 10AM to 4PM. New Tampa Regional Library 10001 Cross Creek Blvd . Great deals on used books with the proceeds funding library programs. We still need volunteers to work at the sale.
