On January 21, 2026, the Tampa International Airport Police Department was proud host a swearing in, promotion and awards ceremony. Please see the following photos to read about those who were honored.

Yesterday, we bid farewell to Officer Kim Richbourg who retired after 24 years of service to the Tampa International Airport Police Department.
Kim’s journey in Public Safety began back in March of 1985 with the Tampa Police Department. For 11 years, she served as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher.
In April of 2001, Kim brought her experience and professionalism to the Tampa International Airport Police Department, once again serving as an Emergency Police and Fire Dispatcher.
In June of 2002, she proudly became a sworn police officer with the Tampa International Airport Police Department.
For the past 13 years, she has been a dedicated member of the Department’s Honor Guard Unit .
Beyond the badge, Kim has shown her heart for community service through her involvement with Habitat for Humanity, contributing her time and effort to help build homes—and more importantly hope—for those in need.
Thank you for your service and enjoy your retirement!

Congratulations to Tampa International Airport Police Department Citizen Police Academy (TPACPA) Class #13 on their graduation! Members attended a two hour weekly session each week for 8 weeks learning about such topics and the History of Policing, Case Law, volunteering to participate in a Physical Agility Test, meeting our K9's (worth the price of admission, alone!), and taking part in scenario training and fi****ms familiarization with certified instructors.
