Lighthouse for the Blind & Low Vision

We are happy to share that we’ve received a Truist Foundation grant to support Lighthouse for the Blind & Low Vision's Transition for Teens program. This free program helps local blind and low vision teens graduate high school and transition to college or employment. Because of grants like this, we are able to help our clients live independtly throughout all phases of life.

Today is the last day of school for many of our students! Let's wish them all a wonderful summer, filled with fun and happiness. We'll be postinng pictures of summer programs, which are so much fun for kids of all ages!

Our goal at the Lighthouse is to help blind and low vision individuals live a lifetime of independence. We provide a wide variety of free programs and services for children, adults, and seniors that help them reach this goal. Adaptive technology has made incredible impacts on the lives of blind and low vision individuals. At Lighthouse for the Blind & Low Vision, our Rehabilitation Engineering offering helps individuals use technology to succeed in college, maintain employment, and pursue new career opportunities.

Our teens from around the area had an incredible time this weekend at our prom! They had so much fun getting ready, dancing, and hanging out with their friends. We are thrilled they had such a great experience!

Serving our veterans is important to us. One way we do this is through our Veterans Services programs, where our Assistive Technology Specialists provide technology services to our veterans who are blind or have low vision. These free services help visually impaired veterans regain independence in the home and in the community, enhancing their quality of life.
