🍂 This is a friendly reminder that our upcoming in-person grief support group, The Holidays, Held Differently, begins next Thursday, October 29!

This four-week group will meet every Thursday from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at The Life Center of the Suncoast.

The holidays can be especially difficult when navigating grief and loss. This group offers a welcoming, supportive space to share experiences, honor loved ones, and connect with others who understand.

The holidays can hold many things at once—love, connection, memories, change, and grief. 🤍

The Holidays, Held Differently is an in-person grief support group created to offer a compassionate space for navigating grief during the holiday season. Together, we’ll make room for the difficult moments, remember and honor the people we’ve lost, explore changing traditions, and connect with others who understand.

There is no timeline for grief, and no “right” way to experience the holidays after a loss. You don’t have to navigate this season alone.

With more than 24 years of experience supporting individuals and families through grief, loss, trauma, anxiety, and life transitions, Carrie brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to creating compassionate spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal.

We’re especially excited to welcome her leadership as she helps guide The Life Center of the Suncoast in our continued commitment to hope, healing, and connection for those navigating life’s most difficult challenges.

Grief can be heavy. You don’t have to carry it alone. 💚

September is Su***de Prevention Month—a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind one another that support is available.

Grief and trauma can bring intense emotions, isolation, hopelessness, guilt, and feelings that may be difficult to put into words. For those who have lost someone to su***de, the grief can be especially complicated, and research has found an increased risk of suicidal thoughts among people experiencing su***de bereavement.

Talking about su***de does not create suicidal thoughts. Sometimes, asking “Are you thinking about su***de?” can be the first step toward helping someone feel seen, supported, and connected to care.

If you or someone you love is struggling, you do not have to navigate it alone.

Our counseling center offers support through:
• Individual psychotherapy
• Grief support groups
• Grief and trauma-informed care

HALOS — Healing After a Loved One’s Su***de support group — is offered through Suncoast Kids Place.

You can also call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.

☕️ Our first Good Mourning meeting was this morning, and we couldn't have asked for a more meaningful start.

Today we gathered virtually to share a cup of coffee, practice mindfulness, reflect through journaling, and connect in a supportive space with others navigating grief.

Good Mourning was created to help you begin your week with a sense of calm, clarity, and connection. Through grounding exercises, guided discussion, journaling, gentle processing, and affirmations, our hope is to provide a peaceful way to ease into the week while honoring your grief at your own pace.

If you weren't able to join us today, we'd love to welcome you at our next bi-weekly session. Whether you choose to share, listen, or simply be present, you are always welcome.
