Our very own Driver Engineer, Anthony Cuervo, shared important boating safety tips as we head into the busy Memorial Day weekend on the water. 🌊☀️🚤

Whether you’re spending the weekend on a boat, jet ski, or at the sandbar, safety should always come first. Here are a few reminders before you launch:

⚓ Wear a life jacket...especially children and weak swimmers
⚓ Never boat under the influence
⚓ Check the weather forecast before heading out
⚓ Designate a sober operator
⚓ Have working life jackets and emergency equipment onboard
⚓ File a float plan and let someone know where you’re going
⚓ Stay alert for other boaters and swimmers
⚓ Keep hydration and sunscreen handy in the Florida heat ☀️💧

Members of Station 7 were honored with the Life Saver Award by HCA Florida Brandon Hospital for their decisive actions during a critical medical call that helped save a patient’s life.

Congratulations to Paramedics Jordan Diehm, K'Juan Donaldson, Jason Patterson, William Rodriguez, and EMT Kwan Slydell for this well-deserved recognition.

🚒🔥 HCFR crews responded to a residential structure fire Thursday afternoon on Blossom Avenue in Tampa after multiple 911 calls began coming into our emergency dispatch communications center shortly after 2:00 PM.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire conditions coming from the single-story home and immediately went to work, launching an interior fire attack while crews searched the residence. Due to deteriorating conditions, firefighters transitioned to a defensive operation, using an aerial apparatus to knock down the remaining fire from above. 💪🚨

The fire was extinguished in under one hour. Thankfully, no occupants were found inside the home, and there were no injuries to civilians or first responders. 🙏

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
