If you’ve let someone claim your children as dependents in the past—or if it happened without your consent—getting a six-digit IP PIN is essential. This PIN ensures that no one else can claim your kids on their taxes, even if they have the required documents. We want to avoid your tax credits from being claimed by anyone but YOU! If you suspect someone may try to beat you to the punch I suggest doing what’s recommended below. ⬇️

To get started, visit IRS.gov/IPPIN. Log in or create an IRS account, and follow the steps to request your IP PIN for each child. I am available for assistance if you do need it as well!
