Effective Tuesday, October 11, all customers will be required to enter their PIN when checking out a book, downloading an eBook, or reserving a computer. This will provide an added layer of security for library customers. The default PIN for every library card is the last four digits of your phone number. If you don't know your PIN, visit the information desk at your local library or call the library information line at 273-3652 for assistance.

Pokémon Club in THE HIVE at Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.! All Pokemon fans and trainers are invited. Learn to play from a Pokémon League Leader. Share, trade, and play with other enthusiasts! All skill levels, beginner to Master, are welcome. Plus, there will be a lure at the library from 2:30-3:30 for all the Pokémon Go trainers!

Starting Friday, July 1, The Hive at John F. Germany Library will be expanding its hours! The new hours will be:

Monday-Thursday 10 A. M. – 9 P. M.
Friday and Saturday 10 A. M. – 6 P. M.
Sunday 12:30 P. M. – 5 P. M.

*Please note: All Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Libraries will be closed on Monday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.*

One of the Hive’s 3D Printers went on the road earlier this month to the Entrepreneur Collaborative Center for an ‘Introduction to 3D Printing for Business’ presentation following 1 Million Cups Tampa! Participants learned about ways 3D printers can be used for rapid prototyping, cutting manufacturing costs, customization and more. A participating Game of Thrones fan was excited about this Hand of the King demo print!

We used Makey Makey kits to design and construct video game controllers and then used Scratch (programming language) games to test them. Thanks to everyone who came out, we had a great time!
