2025 Patriot Day 911 Remembrance

Dear Veterans/Leaders/Friends:

In tribute to the service of first responders, military members, and the many lives lost in 2001, I invite you and your community to the county’s annual Patriot Day: 9/11 Remembrance on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.

Our 24th anniversary event will be led by local JROTC cadets. In partnership with the Veterans Council of Hillsborough and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR), we invite you to attend and support their youth leadership. In the spirit of duty and the 9/11 National Day of Service, first-responders and active-duty military members will be on hand to engage the generation too young to recall the historic attacks in 2001.

Our Patriot Day: 9/11 Remembrance is a free outdoor event. Our Veterans Memorial Park and monuments welcome visitors until 5 p.m. daily.

We hope you can join us. Until then, be well, and thank you for your service.

Hillsborough County 28th Annual Memorial Day Observance Ceremony

In tribute to all who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation, I invite you, your families, and friends to the county’s 28th annual Memorial Day Observance on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. Our new and enormous American flag will proudly greet you upon entrance to the park on U.S. Highway 301!

In partnership with the Veterans Council of Hillsborough County, our special guests for this event include Col. Jeff J. Mrazik, 6th Operation Group Commander from MacDill Air Force Base, and Retired Army Colonel Al Carter, Chief of Staff at the Florida Department of Veteran Affairs. Additions to the “Garden of Gold” pictorial flag installation will pay tribute to fallen heroes and Gold Star Families, ever present in our hearts. Following the ceremony, enjoy refreshments and fellowship with the military community.

In partnership with the Veterans Council of Hillsborough and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR), our 23rd anniversary event will feature local JROTC cadets. Following the ceremony, students from a generation too young to recall the attacks of 2001 will then engage with first responders and military Veterans in the spirit of duty and the 9/11 National Day of Service.
