Winter Commissioning ❄️🎖️🇺🇸

Over Winter Break, six Cadets took the Oath and officially commissioned as U.S. Army Second Lieutenants, marking the end of years of hard work and the beginning of their journey as Army officers. Surrounded by family, friends, and fellow Cadets, our newest 2LTs stepped forward to accept the responsibility to lead, serve, and uphold the Army Values wherever they are called.

Today our cadets divided and conquered. MS3s took to the classroom and practiced writing and delivering WARNOs in a timely manner, while MS1s and MS2s took to the field to build their foundations of tactical movements with IMTs and FOOMs.

Our cadets participated in a day & night land nav superlab this week, where they put their classroom learning to the test by going out into the wilderness to find 7 points. MS4s supported training not only through organization, education, and leadership- but also by hosting a cookout fundraiser 🍔.

Today cadets of all MS levels came together to hear the Fall 2025 big brief. Our Cadre, MS4s, and USF partners instructed Cadets on expectations, plans, and resources they have this semester.

Of course… USF Air Force ROTC back at it again with another win for the Commander’s Cup series… 😒

Today, the USF ROTC programs held a joint picnic event at the USF Riverwalk Park. This JMLC event allows cadres and cadets to take a break from finals by socializing, celebrating, and competing in the final Commander’s Cup series ending it off for the 2024 Spring Semester.

This morning the Suncoast BN and a few USF Air Force ROTC cadets conducted a Sexual Assault Prevention Awareness Run to raise awareness for and better identify ways to prevent s*xual assault. We stopped at multiple locations around the USF campus and conducted vignettes where we were able to listen, talk about each story, and perform calisthenics.

Today, the Suncoast BN hosted a ‘Golf Scramble’ tournament at MacDill AFB to which gives an opportunities for cadets, cadre, and friends showing off their best swings and to have fun!

Well, it’s a final wrap! Today at LAB, the Suncoast Battalion hosted an ‘Award Ceremony’ for cadets that made a huge impact within the program and announcing change of cadet leadership for next semester!

Most importantly, we want to congratulate to our cadre, CPT Douglas Davis on retiring from the U.S. Army! We thank you for your service and the activities you have done for the Suncoast Battalion!

This week, the Suncoast Battalion has conducted their ACFT of the semester! It is important for our cadets to meet the physical standards of the Army Combat Fitness Test!

Due to severe weather conditions, our MS3s went over a refresher on building and rehearsing an OPORD with the assistance of MS4s and Cadre for this week’s LAB.

Yesterday, the Suncoast Battalion had their Military Dine-In event on a Yacht (yes a Yacht) in downtown Tampa. The cadres and cadets had a good time enjoying the food, skits, dance room, and the downtown Tampa scenery. The only thing not so Dilly Dilly was the forbidden grog.
