This page is designed to present and demonstrate what the men and women of Tampa Fire Rescue encounter on a daily basis. TFR personnel work tirelessly to provide the utmost level of quality service, dedication and protection to the residents and visitors of the City of Tampa. Tampa Fire Rescue provides essential service in the areas of fire prevention, fire protection, fire suppression services and emergency medical services for the seriously ill and injured. Tampa Fire Rescue also provides hazardous materials response, aircraft rescue, marine firefighting and fire and life safety education to the public. The Fire Marshal's office, a division of Tampa Fire Rescue, investigates causes of fire, conducts building code reviews and enforces fire and life safety codes. The department is comprised of the Operations, Rescue, Communications, Prevention, and Administrative Divisions.

🔥 Prescribed Burn Notification 🔥

Attention, New Tampa residents! Please be aware of a prescribed burn scheduled by the Southwest Florida Water Management District.

Location: Lower Hillsborough–Flatwoods Park, Hillsborough County
Date & Time: Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

They will conduct a 130-acre prescribed fire. All prescribed burns are authorized by the Florida Forest Service and subject to change based on weather and safety conditions.

Prescribed burns clear dangerous fuel buildup in overgrown areas, reducing the risk and severity of wildfires. This controlled burn is weather-dependent and aims to maintain the health of our local ecosystems. Please expect smoke in the area during this time.

🛴 Big batteries need extra care!

E-bikes, e-scooters, and power tools use larger lithium-ion batteries that store more energy. If a battery fails, a fire can grow quickly.

When possible, charge these items outside in a safe, dry location and always keep them away from doors, hallways, and other exits.
