God bless those farmers! 🙌
We are looking for suggestions for shows, sales, food contests, art shows and other exhibits at the park. If you have any ideas, please post them here.
A special committee is now being formed by Hillsborough County to form and plan new types of events for the Joe Chillura Courthouse Square. If you have some ideas you are welcome to post them here or contact your county commissioner. Concerts, art shows, holiday festivities, small food and novelty markets are the types of events now being considered.

The Tampa Bay Lightening logo was placed in the grass in the center of the park as good luck for the area hockey team now in the playoffs for the national championship. The photo was taken by WFLA' Paul Lamison, who is very tall and pointed his camera downward.

This is the latest aerial photograph of Joe Chillura Courthouse Square, the first one taken since the park underwent major repairs and renovations. Hillsborough County government has committed to an on-going program of maintenance at the park to ensure visitors the very best experience. Since it opened nearly 18 years ago, hundreds of important events have taken place there and thousands of visitors have enjoyed the site. Photo was taken by WFLA photojournalist Paul Lamison.
Please note that the address of Joe Chillura Courthouse Square is 600 E. Kennedy Blvd. The Fred Karl County Center, across the street to the south, is 601 E. Kennedy Blvd. So sorry so many are confused by this.
If you stop by the park you'll see that improvements are progressing. After more than a year of urging the county, which is responsible for maintaining the park, to perform the needed upkeep items IT IS HAPPENING! It's a park that is used by many for important public events and for workers in the area for having a peaceful, outdoor lunch. Thankfully, both city and county government has thought ahead in preserving at least several square blocks in the core business district of downtown as green areas, never to be developed.
Hillsborough County government is now in the process of major maintenance to the park. Grass is being replaced, cracked concrete is being repaired, trees are being trimmed, etc. Hopefully, the bus stop shelter on the sidewalk that blocks some of the park's signage will soon be moved. It should have never been placed there to begin with. The park will eventually be as well kept and pristine as the City's Gaslight Park located three blocks away to the west.
