In recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day, I’m sharing a video I recorded in 2022 of the Lenape Rising Nation River Journey along the Delaware River, which included a stop in Shawnee.
The Lenape people are the original inhabitants of this land, with deep roots along the Delaware. This journey honors their history and living traditions while reminding us of our shared responsibility to protect the land and water for future generations.
Today, we recognize the enduring contributions of Indigenous peoples and honor their connection to the land we call home.

💧 Catching up on this past week’s events! On Thursday, I joined my friends at the Brodhead Watershed Association’s annual Members & Friends Celebration.

I’ve learned so much from these folks over the years. They care deeply about our exceptional value (EV) waters and do the work to protect them. Their guidance has helped me earn an A on the Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania environmental legislative scorecard, and I’m grateful for their friendship and advocacy.

With potential data center development threatening our pristine waters, their work matters more than ever.

It was wonderful to see Joseph Memoli recognized for his years of advocacy and service to our community and BWA. Thank you to Executive Director Stephanie Uhranowsky and President Adam Mosher for all you do!

We’re lucky to have these folks looking out for the Poconos! 💧

The recognized October 9, 2026, as Ageism Awareness Day, drawing attention to a widespread form of prejudice that can impact the health and wellbeing of older adults. It's important to ensure that ALL older adults are treated with respect and as valued members of society.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and today I was pleased to stand with my House colleagues to recognize this important cause. 💗

Early detection saves lives. When breast cancer is detected before it spreads, the five-year relative survival rate is greater than 99%. That’s why regular screenings and early detection are so important.

Let’s continue to raise awareness, support survivors, and honor those we have lost to this disease.

I am deeply honored to receive the 2025-26 Legislative Champion Award from LeadingAge PA.

Aging is generational, and each of us experiences it differently. That’s why it is essential for older adults to have access to the programs, services and resources they need to live with dignity, independence and purpose.

I’m grateful to have the support of my Senior Executive Director, Charles Miller, and Research Analyst, Jason Stephen, who work alongside me every day to help develop and advance policies that make a difference for older Pennsylvanians.

I’m proud to continue advocating for policies that help older Pennsylvanians live their best lives.

I stand with Malcolm, along with my colleagues in both the PA Equality Caucus and the PA Legislative Black Caucus.

I am joining my colleagues in calling for Rep. Bernstine’s resignation. We should expect better from those elected to serve the people of Pennsylvania.

I have known Malcolm for close to a decade. Over those years, I have gotten to know him not only as a colleague, but as a friend. I know his character, his heart, and his commitment to serving the people of Pennsylvania.

There is no place for this kind of hateful language in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, and there is no place for it in America.

I’m happy to see my legislation, HB 2378 taking an important step toward expanding access to recommended adult vaccinations for Pennsylvanians in hospital settings.

This legislation is about making sure patients have access to the preventive care they need—especially when they are already receiving care in a hospital.
