Tar Heel Fire/Rescue asks that you please keep Clarkton Volunteer Fire Department Chief Smith in your prayers as he continues to heal and recover following yesterday’s accident. We also ask that you lift up the entire department and all personnel who responded to the incident, as they navigate this difficult time.

Although a fire truck was lost, we are thankful that the outcome was not worse. Equipment can be replaced, but the lives and well-being of our brothers and sisters in the fire service are what matter most. We pray for Chief Smith’s continued healing, strength, and recovery, as well as peace and comfort for everyone affected by this incident.

As members of the fire service, we are more than just departments—we are family. When family is in need, family steps up. We stand together, support one another, and lift each other up in prayer during difficult times.

“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD.” — Jeremiah 30:17 (KJV)

Please continue to keep Chief Smith, the members of Clarkton Volunteer Fire Department, and everyone involved in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏🚒

Week in and week out we respond to incidents. We never expect to hear words like "med2 advises fire truck overturned".

Yesterday, Station 52 and Chief Smith needed some heroes. Many people stepped up in many ways. We are forever grateful. THANK YOU.

Thank you as well to all members of Station 52 that stepped up in any way. Your strength and courage in the face of uncertainty and concern for a brother in need cannot be measured. When peril hits close to home it takes a truly special person to remain calm and handle business.

Chief Smith is banged up and a little broken in spots, but he is still with us. Equipment can be replaced. A life cannot be. He has got a long road ahead of him, but we are thankful he is alive. Please keep him, his family, Station 52, and all first responders everywhere in your thoughts and prayers.

THANK YOU as well to anyone I did not specifically mention but played any part in assisting us. ---LT. Kulp

Tar Heel Fire/Rescue extends our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to our brothers and sisters of the Durham Fire Department following the tragic loss of a firefighter in the line of duty.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the firefighter’s family, friends, fellow firefighters, and the entire Durham Fire Department during this difficult and sorrowful time. We stand with you as you mourn the loss of one of your own.

May God provide comfort and strength to all who knew and loved this dedicated firefighter. May their service, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting others never be forgotten.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Rest Easy, Brother. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

🚒 REMEMBERING LIEUTENANT RONALD P. ALLEN, JR. 🕊️

Today, we honor and remember one of our own, Lieutenant Ronald P. Allen, Jr., who made the Ultimate Sacrifice 20 years ago today.

Lieutenant Allen’s love, dedication, and commitment to the fire service and the Tar Heel community will never be forgotten. His service and sacrifice left a lasting impact on our department and the community he proudly served.

Twenty years later, we continue to remember the man, the firefighter, the lieutenant, and the community servant he was.

Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Your dedication will never be forgotten. Your legacy will live on.

We know you are watching over us and protecting us from above, just as you watched over and protected your community while you were here.

Rest easy, Lieutenant Allen.

🇺🇸 25 YEARS LATER — WE REMEMBER 🇺🇸

Today, Tar Heel Fire/Rescue pauses to remember September 11, 2001 — a day that forever changed our nation.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost and the countless families, friends, and communities forever changed.

We especially honor the 343 firefighters and 60 police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while running toward danger to save others. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to their fellow citizens will never be forgotten.

We also remember the countless first responders, military members, volunteers, and civilians who answered the call in the days, weeks, and years that followed.

We remember the fallen.
We honor the brave.
We support their families.
We will never forget.

Yesterday evening, while operating on our own brush fire we were requested to respond with our 5 ton to assist Vander Fire Department (Cedar Creek Station) in Cumberland County with a Structure Fire/Brush Fire. Due to the 5 ton being tied up on the current brush fire, personnel responded with our 4000 gallon tanker and Dublin Volunteer Fire Department responded with their large brush truck in place of our 5 ton. We would like to extend our prayers for the affected family.

Big thanks to all the fire departments, CC EMS and CCSO who responded to the Cedar Creek area yesterday to assist. Please continue to send prayers for the family affected.
