The resurrection is a reminder that even in life’s darkest moments, hope is never lost. What seemed like an ending became the greatest new beginning. Through the resurrection, we are shown that love is stronger than fear, faith is stronger than doubt, and life is stronger than death. Let this Easter fill your heart with renewed strength, to rise above challenges, to walk in faith, and to trust that brighter days are always ahead.
Wishing everyone a Happy Easter!

Citizens, what started out as a wake up at 3:45a this morning marked the beginning on a new era of tourism for Claiborne County. While there have been several local fishing tournaments occur from the Brogan’s Bost Rsmp today was the first large bass tournament on Norris Lake starting in Claiborne County. When we all arrived at the ramp at 5a there were already several on the water. This morning several volunteers came together and worked like a well oiled machine to direct, park and assist over 200 anglers for the Morristown Marine Fishing Trail Tournament. Without multiple agency buyins this event would not have been possible. A lot of thanks goes out to ARC, TNECD, TWRA (whose assistance would not have been possible without the help of the late Senator Frank Nicely), and PVEC. Locally, Claiborne County Government and Claiborne County Tourism Commission for supporting grant efforts and and a sponsorship for today’s event respectively. However, a special thanks goes out to those locally who showed up this morning to put some skin in the game towards growing this area of tourism and revenue it brings. Thank you Second District Commissioners Nathan Epperson, Haley Barker and Gary Poore, Michael Cavins from TWRA, Ronald Lambert Chairman of Claiborne County Tourism, Karyn Clark, Robin Duncan and Angie Estes for the Claiborne Economic Partnership, South Claiborne Volunteer Fire Department for pumping water for the fish tanks used for weigh in, and THP Trooper Michael Freels for alerting traffic to congestion in the area from 4:30a - 7:45a. And, last but least, Randell McNew, aka Turkey, without whose help over the last week the area would not have been mowed, graded and trash picked up in addition to allowing the use of his property across the highway for overflow parking. Thank you my friend!
In the coming days post tournament data will be shared with the county to help evaluate the economic impact of this tournament. This information will be used for the next round of grant funding to continue the development of this area of tourism revenue generation for Claiborne County.
Claiborne County Government will be on a 2 hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4th. The courthouse and all county offices, courts, library, senior centers, health department, Family Justice Center, the landfill and all convenience centers will be open. Juvenile Court will start at 10a.
