This election is not about me, It is about us. As I talk to people throughout the community and the first district, the common phrase that I keep hearing is people want change. What does change look like to you?

This screenshot was sent to me by a Claiborne county resident. I am grateful to see how people are realizing that I am here to help make a difference. This was last nights Monthly Commissioner meeting. Actions will always speak louder than words.

In the last two months. The Commissioner meetings have proposed a resolution for a Tax Freeze Program to assist the senior citizens of our county. Although I support this program, I do not believe that passing off the expense to others is the proper way to go. The reason that it did not pass is due to the workshop that was had to see the impact of this proposal.

In February, I spoke up and asked the questions of how will this be paid for, and what is the impact on the years to come? I feel by me asking questions, made our Commissioners think of the impact to the community and not quickly push to implement this due to it being an election year.

Now moving forward to last night. The proposal was put to a vote and it did not pass. The picture that was shared with me and now that I share with you can hopefully begin to show that I am not a "Yes" man. I am here to help make this community better for everyone.

Leadership is not a popularity contest.

Friends, family and residents of Claiborne County. I will do my best to keep this short and to the point. My name is Robert (Rob) Nuyen and I am running for County Commissioner for the 1st District. After serving 23 years in the Marine Corps. My family and I moved here to plant roots and call this our forever home.

In the next serval months, I will be going around to earn your trust to represent you in the best way I possibly can. I am not running to make empty promises. I am here to help make a difference, address concerns and provide solutions to problems.

My goal is to work with all commissioners to help provide positive solutions that will help every single resident not just a select few.

To those that don’t know who I am, I will try help put a face to the name. We are the family that lives on Cave Springs. Our dump trucks proudly display American flags during patriotic holidays, and during the Christmas season we showcase our large Santa to help spread some holiday cheer.
