What will Billy Wagner Park bring to Tazewell? Beauty, visitors, pride—and a place where dreams can begin.

Imagine a Little League player standing beside Billy’s statue, looking up and realizing that someone who grew up here went all the way to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Imagine that child thinking, “If he could do something that great, maybe I can, too.”

That inspiration reaches far beyond baseball. Every child deserves to know that their hometown can be the beginning of something extraordinary. Through hard work, determination, and people who believe in them, their dreams are worth pursuing.

Billy Wagner Park celebrates Billy’s remarkable journey while giving all of Tazewell County a place to gather, enjoy, and take pride in. It will welcome visitors to Main Street, introduce them to our shops and restaurants, and give them another reason to discover what makes our community special.

As we dedicate and unveil this beautiful park today, we celebrate what it means for generations to come. We may never know how many dreams will begin with a child standing beside that statue—but what a wonderful place to start.
