This Sunday we’ll take a one-week pause from our study of 1 Timothy for a practical application of what we’ve been learning: Pastor Rob’s ordination! Ordination is a public affirmation of God’s gifts and calling for ministry, and a commitment to support him in that service. As 1 Timothy 4:14 reminds us, “Do not neglect the gift that is in you … when the elders laid their hands on you.” Our overseer, Mark Yoder, will be with us, and Rob’s mentor Bill Hilker will share the message. Everyone is invited to gather for a fellowship meal directly after the service in the upper fellowship hall.

This week we continue on with chapter 4 of I Timothy where Paul warns of later times during which a demonic “searing of the conscience” will produce all sorts of backwards and false teaching. Even some followers of the Way (Jesus) will yield to this deception and abandon the Faith. What can Timothy do? Paul calls him to the work of a good minister: to diligently train the people in godliness. In Timothy’s context, the training regimen had at least two requirements. First, denounce the falsehood so that the brothers and sisters will be able to detect and resist them. Second, feed God’s flock with the truths of the faith and good teaching. Join us this Sunday as I strive to be a good minister, like Timothy.

Totally eclipsing my efforts, however, will be our time around the Lord’s own table, where He Himself will be our Host, giving us the only food that can provide eternal life: His flesh and His blood. Your brother, friend, master, and King is calling, “Come!” May all who hunger and thirst come to the table of mercy and share in the feast of our salvation.

Sunday we return to our series in 1 Timothy with a focus on being entrusted with and guarding the gospel in every generation. The focus of our question is: "Who can God use?"
You may be among those who have said, "God could never use me because when he dished out his spiritual gifts, my plate remained empty." Well, when we look at the qualifications of those God can use in 1 Timothy 3, it's not based on the gifts of the spirit but the fruit of the spirit manifested in our lives. We can't create gifts of the spirit God did not give us, but we can by his grace and strength produce fruits of the spirit which is the character God is looking for for those he wants to use.
Perhaps the first step for you in being used by God is simply being there this Sunday.

Paul does not provide five-year vision plans with listed goals and objectives for his churches. Although those can be helpful, that is not his task. He is a missionary, and he is determined that the gospel he preached—the gospel that was initially accepted—is grasped with ever greater depth. The specific depth that Paul prays for in Ephesians 3 is the content of the exhortation this week.

The Gospel message and God’s gift of salvation is for all people. As the winds and rain of false teaching beat down on the church in Ephesus, Paul calls on Timothy to restore true belief. Starting with salvation itself, Paul reminds that God desires for all people to be saved and therefore calls the Ephesians back to congregational ministry of prayer for all people. The power and effectiveness of such a ministry shouldn’t be glossed over. As they pray, in some measure they also offer God’s salvation to those who would otherwise be excluded.
When the church gathers, however, ungodly behaviors and attitudes are distracting both the brothers and the sisters from what should be their primary goal—pleasing God. As we anticipate meeting together for worship this Sunday, let us keep our hearts and minds open to God’s Word, desiring that the Truth would continually renew and reform us according to the image of our Creator.

This Sunday, we begin a new sermon series through 1 Timothy called “Entrusted: Guarding the Gospel in Every Generation.” Pastor Kyle kicks things off with, “Guard the Gospel”. We will see Paul’s charge to Timothy to stand firmly against false teaching while allowing the truth of the gospel to produce lives marked by love, holiness, and sincere faith. Paul reminds us that the gospel is not something we only believe—it is a precious message that has been entrusted to us and must be faithfully guarded and passed on to the next generation. Join us Sunday, in the Upper Fellowship Hall, as we are challenged to guard the gospel, live the gospel, and keep the light of Christ burning brightly for those around us.

What if everything about our worship looked right on the outside, yet God was not pleased? This Sunday, we will close out our series, The Heart of Worship, by exploring Amos 5:18-27, where God confronts His people with a sobering warning about compromised worship. Seeing as we have already studied what worship is and how we can please God with our worship, we will also talk about how we can put this into practice. How do we refrain from compromised worship when life is easy? What about when life is hard?

This Sunday, we invite you to join us for a special Music Sunday as we celebrate one of God’s gracious gifts to the church: the privilege of singing our faith together. Singing is not just something we do to fill time before the sermon—it is a ministry we share with one another. When we lift our voices together, we proclaim the truth of God’s Word, remind one another of the gospel, strengthen weary hearts, and express the unity we have in Christ. Every member has a part in this ministry! Our singing helps build up the body, and hearing the voices of our brothers and sisters reminds us that we do not follow Jesus alone. In fact, singing together is one of the ways we disciple and encourage one another as the church. So “come, we that love the Lord” and add your own voice to the joyful song of God’s people as together we lift high the One who has redeemed us.

Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” These simple words of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount reveal the heart of worship: the devotion of the heart to that which it values above all else. This was true for the worshippers of Baal in the Old Testament as well as of Artemis in Ephesus. It’s still true today for the millions in our own country who worship their material possessions. In the same way, true worshippers of Jesus are those whose hearts testify, “He is my priceless treasure.” Join us this Sunday as we study the Scriptures in pursuit of godly worship.

What if everything about our worship looked right on the outside, yet God was not pleased? This Sunday we begin our new sermon series, The Heart of Worship, by exploring Amos 5:18–27, where God confronts His people with a sobering warning about compromised worship. Together we'll examine the difference between outward religion and wholehearted devotion, allowing God's Word to challenge our priorities and refocus our hearts on Him. We ask that you bring open minds and humble hearts to this sermon series as we enter this important journey of rediscovering the worship God truly desires.
