From patrol officers to dispatchers, investigators, supervisors, and every role in between, women in law enforcement demonstrate strength, courage, compassion, and dedication. They break barriers, inspire future generations, and make a lasting difference in the lives of those they serve.

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation. We honor the 2,977 innocent lives lost, the brave first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless heroes who gave everything to help others. From the Tellico Plains Police Department, we stand with our brothers and sisters in law enforcement, fire, EMS, and our military who continue to serve with courage and sacrifice. 🇺🇸 We Remember. A special thank you to Monroe County Prevention & Wellness for providing their impairment simulation activities. Attendees had the opportunity to experience the effects of impairment by using the Drunk Goggles, Cannabis Goggles, and Totally Wasted Goggles, which demonstrated how alcohol and drugs can affect vision, balance, coordination, and reaction time.

What an incredible evening at our National Night Out Tuesday evening!

We would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made this year's event such a tremendous success. Seeing so many members of our community come together with our first responders made for an unforgettable night!

Families enjoyed delicious food, waterslides, free school supplies, fire and rescue demonstrations, and plenty of fellowship with friends and neighbors. Events like these help strengthen the partnership between our community and the men and women who serve it every day.

A special thank you to Monroe County Prevention & Wellness for providing their impairment simulation activities. Attendees had the opportunity to experience the effects of impairment by using the Drunk Goggles, Cannabis Goggles, and Totally Wasted Goggles, which demonstrated how alcohol and drugs can affect vision, balance, coordination, and reaction time.

Officer Ferguson also conducted field sobriety exercises while participants wore the impairment goggles, giving kids and adults alike a hands-on lesson about the dangers of impaired driving in a safe and educational environment.

🚔❤️ Serving Beyond the Badge ❤️🚑

At the Tellico Plains Police Department, our officers are cross-trained in a variety of skills, from law enforcement duties to emergency medical and life-saving techniques. We believe protecting our community means being prepared for any situation.

This past Friday, we had the opportunity to provide CPR-BLS through the American Heart Association and Stop the Bleed training to the team at Enviroloop here in Tellico Plains. These critical skills can make the difference between life and death in an emergency, and we are proud to help equip members of our community with the knowledge and confidence to respond when seconds matter.

A special thank you to Enviroloop for their commitment to safety and for allowing us to be a part of this important training. Together, we are building a safer and stronger community.

We had a very special new addition to the department this past week! Please join us in welcoming Special Officer Colton to the force! 👮‍♂️

Officer Colton spent time learning how to use the radio and even got the chance to talk with dispatch, making for a memorable experience and one we were honored to share with him.

A huge thank you to Monroe County E-911 for being a part of this special day and for helping Officer Colton with his radio traffic. Your kindness and support helped make this experience truly unforgettable.
