That kind of support, close by and ready to let go, is how students learn they can stand on their own.

🧱 Choosing a path is only the beginning, because a student still has to walk it.

In this short from Kickin' It with Kathleen, Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Hermsmeyer talks about the L in this year's L.E.G.O. blueprint, Learning. A student who chooses a path will still get stuck and still struggle, and that is part of the work. As Dr. Hermsmeyer says, choice without learning is just wandering, and learning without choice is that same gray brick. We don't want either.

Our **Fall Festival & Trunk or Treat** is happening **Monday, October 26, from 4:30–6:00 PM!**

Bring the family for an afternoon of candy, games, and festive fun! 🍬👻

🚗 **Trunk or Treat Volunteers Needed!** Families are invited to decorate their trunks and join the fun. Candy will be provided!

🧱 Think about all the different things our students are building right now.

🧱 Some of the clearest lessons about teaching come from our very first classrooms.

Our hearts are with everyone affected by the Norte Fire in Orange County.

To our Springs families, staff, and neighbors facing evacuations, displacement, or uncertainty, please know that our community is thinking of you. Your safety and well-being come first.

We've gathered important resources to help those impacted:

🚨 Fire & Evacuation Updates: Follow and for official information, evacuation orders, and safety updates.

🏠 Emergency Assistance: If you need shelter, food, housing assistance, or other essential resources, dial 2-1-1 or visit 211oc.org for free, confidential support.

Springs Families: If your family has been displaced by the fire, your student may qualify for additional educational support through the McKinney-Vento program. Please reach out to your teacher so we can help connect you with available resources.

Springs Staff: If you've been impacted, please reach out to your supervisor or Human Resources so we can help identify available support.

To the firefighters, first responders, and community members working tirelessly to protect our neighbors and homes, thank you. We are especially grateful to and all responding agencies.

Please stay safe, look out for one another, and know that your Springs community is here for you. 💙

🧱 When the door opens in the morning, when the work begins, when a student gets a hot meal and a smile, a brick is set in somebody's education.
