Some medications can increase your risk of heat-related illness.

According to the University of Arizona's Heat and Medications Task Force, certain prescription and over-the-counter medications may affect how your body responds to heat by reducing sweating, increasing fluid loss or making you more sensitive to sunlight.

As temperatures climb, it's a good reminder to talk with your doctor, nurse or pharmacist about how your medications may interact with Arizona's summer heat.

Throughout the summer, Tempe outreach specialists meet with people experiencing homelessness, helping connect them with shelter, housing, healthcare and other resources.

Today, Tempe Fire Medical Rescue crews joined firefighters from Phoenix Fire and Daisy Mountain Fire in es**rting a steel beam from the World Trade Center from the Hall of Flame Museum to Scottsdale's USS Arizona Memorial Gardens.

Before the es**rt, firefighters had the opportunity to see the steel beam and FDNY Rescue 4, a fire truck that lost all nine of its members while responding to the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

The World Trade Center artifact is traveling the country as part of the Steel Across America program, an initiative of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation that shares pieces of the World Trade Center with communities across the nation to help preserve the history and legacy of 9/11.

We were honored to take part in today's event and help ensure the sacrifices of that day are never forgotten.
