Hello All,

A GOP Super PAC has withdrawn 10 million dollars away from Kean Jr.'s relection bid in NJ's 7th. So, not only has the GOP spent money to prevent other candidates from being on the ballot in NJ's 7th (such as what they did with Lana Leguia's petition), but now they are actively tanking their own candidate. Seems the GOP really wants Bennett to win the race. Luckily, Lana Leguia is still running a write-in campaign this November. There is still a chance to prevent Sherrill 2.0 from going to Washington DC. Be Bold and Vote Gold this Novemeber! Write-In Lana Leguia for NJ's 7th!

Thoughtful Thursday:

Hello All,

We have something a little different this week. Members of the NJLP and the Open Government Advocacy Project have brought to our attention that the State of New Jersey is considering substantiative changes to OPRA. OPRA, or the Open Public Records Act allows everyday citizens to request documents from the government. This allows for citizen oversight into how your tax dollars are being used. These new changes would potentially "ignore anonymous OPRA requests because they want to make it so that anonymous complaints are no longer valid..." and "removes the ability to also claim the right under common law." (R.J. Edgar, NJLP). If these fears are correct this would significantly limit the ability of NJ citizens to get reliable information from a request, thus further obfuscating the actions taken by government officials. We will attach a link to the suggestions, which have a comment link for those who want to voice their opinions. We will also be sharing John Paff's (OGAP) break down of the changes. We know there is a lot of reading, but an informed populace is a free populace.

Teaching Tuesday:

Hello All,

The recent controversies surrounding the failed ex*****on of Christa Pike and the alleged streaming of Fort Hood Shooter Hasan's firing squad death sentence has once again revived the longstanding debate about whether capital punishment is morally acceptable in a free society. The Libertarian Party Platform (1.8) clearly states that we oppose the administration of the death penalty by the State, however, what is less clear to many is why. Some argue against it because it's an overreach of the State's Constitutionally assigned powers. Others claim it is barbaric. However, one of the hardest arguments to refute was expanded upon by former LNC Chair Nicholas Sarwark back in 2016. While being interviewed by the Tom Sumner Program about the Marcellus Williams ex*****on Former Chair Sarwark detailed what he believed the chief claim against capital punishment was; the potential for abuse and the inability to rectify those mistakes. Once a person is killed, there is no way to make any amens if and when it's determined the sentencing was wrong. Check out the excerpts from the interview below. Unfortunately, we could not find a video of the interview to share.

Meme Monday:

Hello All,

At what point do we throw our hands up and admit we are living in the same kind of society we claim to be better than? President Trump has declared that the ex*****on of Nidal Malik Hasan will...be livestreamed!?! For context, former Army Major and physician Hasan was the perpetrator behind the 2009 Fort Hood shooting that led to the deaths of 13 people and the injuring of 32 others. He was sentenced to death by an Army Jury panel, which President Trump ordered be carried out by firing squad (something that Sec. of War Hegseth admitted hasn't been done since the Second World War). Now, the Libertarian Party formally denounces capital punishment in its platform (Personal Liberty 1.8), but let's not even get into that right now. Whether you support or reject the death penalty, in what world is it appropriate to livestream the death of a human being? Y'all remember when Logan Paul was kicked off of Twitch back in 2017 when he filmed a dead body in Japan accidentally (though he certainly seemed to be pleased with himself)? The masses rightfully called him out for it, and he had to make amens. Now, our Commander-in-Chief is using the old Bread and Circus approach (likely to try and salvage his abysmal approval rating) to justify broadcasting a man being executed. What happened to the right's moral majority? What happened to human dignity and the values exposed by the Abrahamic faiths, which their supporters claim to adhere to? What happened to protecting the kids? You know they will see this, right? Have we not progressed from the Roman Colosseum days? Whether the State should or should not kill violent offenders is one thing, but to present the act in the same way people experience K-Pop performances on YouTube is a special kind of barbarism. One that both the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and Vice-Presndent J.D. Vance have denounced, and rightfully so. We legitimately hope this becomes another case of Trump running his mouth about things that will never happen, but we cannot expect that to be the case given his track record. If and when this event is shared, we ask you to consider doing anything else. Read a book, spend time with your family (away from TVs or computers), walk your dog, etc. Do not feed this behavior with your valuable time and attention.

Hello All,

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) have successfully secured many wins over the last few elections, and they stand to win big this November. This is partly due to the Democratic old guard remaining out-of-touch for decades and partly due to the continued erosion of free markets and competition, in favor of cronyism and corporate welfare. While voters are rightfully rejecting MAGAmerica, the Democrats (DSA or Neo Liberal) is not the solution either. The answer never has been, nor will it ever be the disempowering of the individual for the benefit of the State. Be Bold and Vote Gold this November! If you live in NJ's 7th, say no to Kean JR and Bennett. Write-in Lana Leguia for Congress NJ-07 !

Open Government Advocacy Project Update:

Hello All,

John Paff, the head of our Open Government Advocacy Project has an update concerning Mercer County Community College. Please give it a read.

John Paff:

"At its September 23, 2026, meeting, the Mercer County Community College Board of Trustees quietly agreed to pay $300,000 to resolve a discrimination and retaliation lawsuit brought by a longtime employee who alleged that she had repeatedly been denied promotions and paid less than similarly situated white employees. Read more and download case documents at the link below."

Special Saturday:

Hello All,

Say what you will about New Jersey, but at least we keep things "interesting". On Thursday, October 8th a NJ Transit bus drove into the front of a private residence at around 5:45 A.M. The driver, who had apparently suffered a medical emergency, lost control of the bus and collided with two parked cars and a home off of Route 4 in Englewood. Luckily, the bus was free of passengers, and the home and vehicles were unoccupied during the incident. We are relieved to hear that only property damage occurred and no lives were lost. If only this were the only time a home was run into by an employee of the State.

Back in March of this year Thomas Pellegrino, a member of the Manasquan Board of Education, drove his Jeep into a neighbor's living room on the 7th. it was determined that he was under the influence and charges were filed. He resigned later that month. Based on our research, it seems as if the case is still ongoing. It's also important to note that he was one of 3 NJ politicians/ political aids arrested for a DUI within a single year (we discussed this back in March: https://www.instagram.com/p/DV7sCF2lnkp/ )

So, twice this year, state employees have driven into living rooms, and while one might be forgivable (accidents do happen), we have to ask ourselves how many living rooms have to suffer high-impact renovations before we ask ourselves whether all of this is worth it. So, in the same way that State supporters ask, "who will pay for the roads?" we'd like to ask, "who is going to fix my house?"

In Liberty,
-DoubleYou Ess

P.S. While it's fun to point out how horrible the government and systems of NJ are we legitimately do hope the driver is well and wish nothing but the best for them.

Hello All,

Remember those Iranian school children that were killed by a US airstrike during the opening days of the war? Turns out the target might have been selected by an AI algorithm. Guess the Pentagon was too busy to choose their victims the old fashioned way.

At least 123 children were killed. https://trib.al/iHhlnkA
