DID YOU KNOW?

In many local elections, only 10%–30% of people vote.
That means 70%–90% of voices go unheard.

Even more eye-opening…
Some races are decided by just a few hundred votes.

👉 In a city like ours, your vote carries real weight.

Decisions about our roads, safety, growth, and future
can come down to a small handful of voters.

💙 Don’t sit this one out.
💚 Don’t let others decide for you.

Make your voice count. Go vote.

SAFETY AT A GLANCE

Keeping Texas City safe isn’t just a priority, it’s a responsibility.

Here’s a look at the work being done to improve safety across our community:

✔️ Championed new signage and 4-way stop signs at Carver & Park Avenue to help prevent accidents

✔️ Co-chaired “Spotlight on Safety” to raise awareness and provide an easy way to report streetlight outages

✔️ Initiated a TxDOT request for a Fully Actuated Signal System at Highway 3 & Mentor Drive

➡️ Backed by TCPD data (2020–2023): 5 fatal accidents and 7 minor accidents

➡️ Project approved and currently in the Design Phase

✔️ Advocated for direct coordination with TxDOT leadership to address unsafe road conditions along Seacrest & Lago Mar frontage roads

✔️ Provided Lago Mar POA with IH-45 Gulf Freeway project phase updates

✔️ Initiated the FM1765 Sidewalk & Pedestrian Connectivity Project

➡️ Sidewalks on both sides from I-45 to Vauthier

➡️ Safer route for LMHS students

➡️ Includes ADA-compliant curb ramps

➡️ $409K project at no cost to Texas City

Real work. Real results. Safer streets.

Measurable Results Matter.

Public safety isn’t just a promise — it’s something you should be able to see and measure.

I’m proud to recognize the dedicated men and women of the Texas City Police Department for their continued commitment to our community. Because of their hard work and strong partnerships, we are seeing real progress.

rom 2022–2025, Texas City has seen:

✔️ Violent crime — Down
✔️ Total crime — Down
✔️ Homicides — Down
✔️ Robbery — Down
✔️ Assault — Down
✔️ Motor vehicle theft — Down
✔️ Other thefts — Down
✔️ Burglary of motor vehicles — Down

➡️ One area to watch: Burglary — Up
And that means we stay focused, proactive, and committed to solutions.

These results don’t happen by accident. They come from collaboration — between law enforcement, community members, civic groups, and local businesses — all working together to keep Texas City safe.

Transparency matters. Accountability matters. Results matter.

Margaritaville Red Flags 🚩🚩🚩🚩

What Texas City deserves to know!

There’s been a lot of talk about Margaritaville coming to Texas City — so let’s clear up the facts.

City leadership explored the opportunity after visiting a Minto-developed 55+ community in South Carolina. For over 18 months, our City Engineer worked closely with the developer to move the project forward — even while other city projects were put on hold.

Despite the city making 30+ concessions, several serious concerns surfaced:

🚩 The developer wanted to gate off public (spinal) roads at Emmett Lowery Expressway

🚩 Amenities would be exclusive to residents only

🚩 A $25M
Amenity Center structured as a non-profit — paying no taxes
🚩 A 55+ community brings no benefit to TCISD, which needs student enrollment

🚩 Potential legal concerns due to excessive concessions

🚩 No long-term commitment to the Margaritaville brand

🚩 Refusal to include “Texas City” in the development name

🚩 Attempting to dictate who the City Engineer should be

Let me be clear.... you don’t get to tell Texas City who we hire.

And here’s the truth behind the question:
“Did the Mayor cancel Margaritaville?”
No.

The developer never submitted the required application. Without it, the project could not move forward through Planning & Zoning — or come before the Commission for a vote.

That’s not politics — that’s process.

Texas City will always welcome smart development ... but not at the expense of our taxpayers, our schools, or our standards.

I will always stand for transparency, accountability, and protecting what matters most to Texas City.

Texas City welcomes smart development
But not at the expense of:
✔ Taxpayers
✔ Our schools
✔ Our standards
