Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten, and we are grateful for the freedoms their service helped protect. As we spend time with family, friends, and community, we also reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and pay tribute to those who gave everything for others.

In observance of Memorial Day, the United Way Galveston County Mainland office is closed today. We wish everyone a safe and meaningful holiday. ❤️🤍💙

🧠 May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to recognize that mental health is health and that care, support, and understanding matter every day.

We are proud to partner with organizations like Family Service Center - The Center for Mental Health & Wellbeing and NAMI Gulf Coast - TX to help expand access to counseling, education, and support services for individuals and families in our community. Together, we work to connect people with resources that honor their experiences and meet them where they are.

As Family Service Center shared, breaking the stigma starts with conversation. Mental health challenges touch many lives, and seeking support is a meaningful and courageous step toward care. Every conversation, every moment of understanding, and every act of support helps create a community where people feel seen, heard, and supported.

We remain committed to working alongside our partners to reduce barriers to care and strengthen pathways to support.

Let’s continue to listen, support one another, and normalize conversations about mental health—not just this month, but always. 💚

Breaking the stigma starts with a conversation.

At Family Service Center, it is understood that mental health is just as important as physical health. Seeking help is not weakness, it is strength. Every story shared, every voice heard, and every step taken toward healing helps create a community where it is safe to be open, honest, and supported.

Let’s normalize therapy. Let’s support one another. Let’s remind each other that no one has to go through it alone.

What does breaking the stigma mean to you? Share below and be part of the change.

We’re proud to highlight one of our incredible Campaign Partners, Valero! 👏

In 2025, Valero employees showed up in a big way to support our community, contributing 4,166 volunteer hours. When including their families, that impact grew to an impressive 4,545 total volunteer hours.

During United Way Week of Caring, their impact was especially powerful, with 982 hours dedicated to hands-on service throughout the week.

From rolling up their sleeves at volunteer projects to bringing their families along to give back, Valero continues to demonstrate what it truly means to LIVE UNITED.

Thank you, Valero, for your ongoing commitment to strengthening our community. We couldn’t do this work without partners like you! 💙
