🚨 School Zone Light Update 🚨

The Thackerville Police Department and Thackerville Public Schools are aware that some of the school zone lights are currently not functioning properly.

Unfortunately, these lights are not maintained or controlled by the Police Department or the School, but we have contacted ODOT (Oklahoma Department of Transportation) numerous times regarding the issue and have requested that they be repaired.

We understand the importance of having these lights working properly, especially for the safety of our students, parents, and everyone traveling through the school zone.

Thank you to everyone who has brought this issue to our attention and for your patience while we continue working to get it addressed.

I want to personally clear up a misunderstanding regarding a rumor circulating about a school scholarship fundraiser. The Thackerville Police Department has absolutely no intention of shutting down this benefit.

Our department fully supports our local schools, our students, and the community members who work hard to raise scholarship funds. The rumor appears to stem from a miscommunication or misinformation. We are proud to stand behind this cause, and we look forward to a safe, successful event for our students and public.

Thank you!

🥵 HOT WEATHER = HOT CALLS 🚒🚓

These temperatures are no joke, and while most of us are trying to stay cool, our first responders are still out there answering the call.

When a fire breaks out or a wreck happens, firefighters, police officers, EMS, and other emergency personnel may be out in this heat for hours at a time. We’re sweating, working, carrying equipment, directing traffic, working crashes, fighting fires, and doing whatever is needed to keep our community safe.

With that in mind, our Fire Department and Police Department are in need of Gatorade, water, snacks, and coolers to help keep our first responders hydrated and fueled while they’re working in these extreme temperatures.

If you would like to donate to the Fire Department, Police Department, or both, we would truly appreciate it! ❤️

If you’d like to help, please send me a message on Facebook Messenger, or if you have my phone number, shoot me a text/call and we can get everything arranged.

Even something as simple as a case of Gatorade, bottled water, snacks, or a cooler can make a BIG difference.

Thank you to everyone who supports our first responders and our community! 🇺🇸

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and please keep an eye out for the men and women working outside in this heat. 🥵💦🚒🚓
