Life Together Works NYC has been a community staple in our district, making sure families have access to food, resources, and support.

Their food distribution work in has doubled every year since they started, and for a long time, they were doing all of that work without a proper refrigeration system. When they came to me for support, I knew this was an investment that would have a far-reaching impact.

I was glad to help secure $15,500 through Food Bank For NYC for a new refrigeration system to help them better serve the upwards of 800 people who line up in front of their organization every Thursday.

It was exciting to join the Committee for Hispanic Children and Families (CHCF) as they celebrated the opening of their new location!

Organizations like CHCF play such an important role in connecting families with the resources, support, and opportunities they need to thrive. I’m so glad to see their work expand into a new space in , because that means even more Bronx families will have access to programs and services close to home. Congratulations to the entire CHCF team on this milestone, and thank you for your continued commitment to the children and families of the Bronx.

The New York State Legislature has passed S3815B/A8810A — the Detective Miosotis Familia Pension Bill — bringing us one step closer to correcting an inequity in state pension law and ensuring families of fallen public servants can access the benefits their loved ones earned through service and sacrifice. I remain hopeful that as this bill makes its way to the Governor’s desk, we can finally bring this effort across the finish line.

I loved joining the Center for Educational Innovation’s Benchmarks Exhibition Kickoff to see NYC students speak out on the issues that matter to them and unveil original bench murals that will be installed in parks across the five boroughs this summer.

Special shoutout to the students from my district at I.S. 131 Albert Einstein School and Archimedes Academy, who represented us so well. 🙌🏼 When young people are given the space to lead, create, and be heard, it shows exactly why every dollar invested in the arts, education, and community-centered projects helps make the places we call home even better.

BioBus rolled up to M.S. 127, The Castle Hill Middle School, with their mobile science lab! 🧬🔬

Inside students got to climb aboard and explore samples with research-grade microscopes, and take advantage of this incredible STEM experience that felt fun, hands-on, and was an exciting change from their regular school day. Thank you, BioBus, for another unforgettable visit!
