Today in Albany, the Senate hosted the New York State Veterans Hall of Fame ceremony, where my colleagues and I had the distinct privilege of inducting outstanding veterans from across the state.

This year, I was proud to honor Lieutenant Colonel Ron Watson, a born-and-raised Bronxite and United States Marine whose decades of service brought him across Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Thank you, Lt. Col. Watson, for your service, leadership, and continued example to our community.

It was an honor to join the City Island community for today’s Memorial Day Parade in a neighborhood with such a proud military tradition and deep veteran presence.

Today we pause to honor the brave servicemembers who gave their lives in service to our country.

May we remember their sacrifice with gratitude, humility, and respect. 🎖️🇺🇸
