It is with profound sadness that we report the tragic news that our former board member, and longtime supporter and friend of Abraham House, Dorothy Cann Hamilton passed away on Friday morning as a result of an automobile accident in Cape Breton Nova Scotia. Our prayers and the prayers of the entire Abraham House community are with Dorothy, her daughter and their extended family.

The after school students at Abraham House had their first Spelling Bee of the year.We are so proud of them!

Cinco de Mayo—or the fifth of May—commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). In the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.

Abraham House celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with the children from the After School Program by preparing corn beef a traditional Irish dish. We also teach them the culture and history of Ireland and St. Patrick’s Day.

A Celebration to Benefit New York Kids

Thank you to everyone who came out to our 2011 Spring Cocktail Benefit on June 15th, 2011! It was a great success and we were so happy to see so many old and new friends supporting the work we do in the South Bronx!

On Friday, March 18th, Abraham House joyously celebrated the 50th anniversary of founder Fr. Peter Raphael's priesthood! The evening was truly wonderful, and we are so happy that so many friends, supporters, and family were able to come and celebrate the hardwork and wonderful life of Fr. Peter!
