U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary - City Island Flotilla

On Monday, May 25th, a contingent of 26 U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary members, led by Commodore Jensen, marched down City Island Avenue during the annual City Island Memorial Day Parade.

Members from our Flotilla and neighboring Divisions across Queens, Westchester, New Jersey, and Connecticut proudly represented the Auxiliary in uniform, standing alongside the local community to honor and remember the brave men and women who fought for our nation and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Today, members from our Flotilla had the honor of supporting the USCGC Vincent Danz for their commissioning ceremony.

The cutter is named after Vincent Danz who was a New York Police Department officer and a Port Security Specialist Second Class in the United States Coast Guard Reserve, who died responding to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, on September 11, 2001.

3 Years ago Auxiliarist Jose Pena participated in Wear Your Life Jacket to Work Day while on grandpa duty with his grandson Luke. Today, Luke was happy to participate and wear his life jacket to school!
