Outstanding work by your officers and NYPD drone unit! Following a shots-fired call at Washington Avenue and East 182 Street our drone operators successfully tracked the suspects as they fled into Bathgate Park. Officers swiftly moved in, apprehended three juveniles, and recovered two fi****ms.

Your Auxiliary Police Officers were out at the Bx36 bus stop (Webster Ave & E Tremont Ave) speaking with commuters. They shared important safety tips to help prevent thefts and keep our community safe. Whether you are waiting at the stop or riding the bus, please remain alert and mindful of your surroundings.

🔹 Keep gold chains and necklaces tucked inside your shirt.

🔹 Avoid keeping wallets or cell phones in your back pockets where they are easily accessible to pickpockets.

🔹 Always be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity to the police.

Let's work together to make our neighborhood commutes safer. Stay vigilant!

We recently transformed the precincts conference room into a one-stop shop to help local students get prom and graduation ready. It was an honor to help these amazing young adults get ready to celebrate their hard work and milestones in style. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Today, we pause to honor the members of the NYPD who answered a dual call to service, losing their lives while deployed with the U.S. Armed Forces. Their ultimate sacrifice shows what true bravery and selflessness look like. We are forever grateful to them and the families they left behind.

In remembrance of Memorial Day, we honored those who made the ultimate sacrifice by placing American flags at the headstones in the historic West Farms Soldiers Cemetery.

The West Farms Soldiers Cemetery is the oldest public veterans’ burial ground in the Bronx. This land was first dedicated in 1815, and for over two centuries, it has stood as a quiet sanctuary amidst the growing pulse of New York City. Within these gates rest veterans from four pivotal conflicts: the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, and World War I. These men are not just names on paper; they are the literal foundation of our history. When we stand here, we aren't just looking at markers of the past—we are standing on the very ground where history lives.
Many of those buried here, including some who were brought from Potter’s Feld at Hart Island, had no one to claim them. They served without asking for convenience or perfect conditions. They stepped forward when the moment arrived, and because they did, our country was able to move forward. A cemetery like this is more than a resting place; it is a profound reminder. Freedom is never automatic—it must be maintained, carried, and passed from one generation to the next. Sometimes it is forgotten, until people like you show up to remember. When you place a flag on a headstone that may not have been touched in years, you are doing more than a task. You are restoring dignity, acknowledging service, and saying without words: "You mattered."

To the young people of New York City: You are inheriting a legacy you did not build, but one that was shaped by people of every background and language who chose to contribute to something larger than themselves. This duty now reaches you—not necessarily in a uniform, but in how you live, how you treat your neighbors, and the kind of citizen you choose to be. This is the continuity of service that has allowed this nation to endure for over 250 years. As you look at the headstones, remember that.

We are deeply grateful to our steadfast community partners—Fordham University , SBH Health System, Bronx Little Italy for their continued support. Thank you to Chief Gurley, local officials, and the families who stand by our officers. Hold the line.

Yesterday marked the successful conclusion of the Youth Leadership Council (YLC) program. Over the past several months, the Precincts Youth Officers, the Precinct Community Council, and The Eagle Academy for Young Men built an incredible partnership focused on mentorship, leadership, and youth engagement. We couldn't be prouder of the effort, growth, and dedication our students displayed throughout the program. Even though our YLC group didn't take home the top prize in the final competition, they represented both Eagle Academy and the 48th Precinct with unmatched pride and professionalism. Each student spoke confidently during their presentations, demonstrated strong teamwork, and showed genuine excitement to learn and participate. Programs like YLC are vital because they continue to strengthen positive relationships between our youth and the community. We look forward to collaborating again in the future. A very special thank you to Principal Mr. Velazquez for allowing us the opportunity to partner with Eagle Academy and to Ms. Branch for dedicating her time to our students in the classroom and joining us on all our program trips and activities. Thank you all for your continued support.
