The Mayor’s office is pleased to announce the launch of Summer in N.Y.C. This is an interactive website which connects young New Yorkers with free summer programming across the city. Too often, during summer break, young people are left without the activities and support structures that they are provided during the school year. As we know too well, this aimlessness can, and has, result in tragedy. Summer in N.Y.C. provides not just recreational activities, but information about free meals and health services. Notice from DSNY: Memorial Day

No Trash, Curbside Composting or Recycling Collection on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026

The New York City Department of Sanitation announced that in observance of Memorial Day, there will be NO trash, curbside composting nor recycling collection on the holiday, Monday, May 25, 2026.

• Residents who normally receive Monday trash, curbside composting, or recycling collection may place their material at the curb Monday evening for collection beginning Tuesday, May 26. Residents should understand collection delays may occur after holidays. We appreciate patience as we work to collect the backlog of material.

Bronx Community Board 8 is pleased to announce that KHCC will host their 13th annual Neighborhood Festival that is Free for all on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 3pm to 6pm at 3101 Kingsbridge Terrace. This event will feature a lot of Family Fun activities such as games, giveaways, and a bouncy house.
