The love was real in Mount Vernon on Friday, thanks to the countless sponsors and partners who helped make our Community Baby Shower a success. It truly takes a village, and our village showed up in many ways to support these amazing moms and growing families. Thank you to everyone who poured their love, resources, and time into the event, we truly cannot do this without your support!

I am deeply honored to be recognized as both the keynote speaker and an essential Community Partner at the Stand Up to Violence (SUV) 2026 Annual Stakeholders Appreciation Event last night.
One shot fired is one shot too many. I appreciate my good friend Pastor Jay Gooding for being the embodiment of community and for always responding to what the community needs.
Since 2014, SUV has been doing the hard, essential work of reducing gun violence in the Bronx, and being part of this mission is paramount. I thank Jacobi/NCB, my family, friends, and colleagues for their support and encouragement!

To the nurturers, the protectors, and the centers of our homes: Happy Mother’s Day! Whether you’re a mom, a grandma, a mentor, or a community matriarch, thank you for the endless ways you love and watch us grow.
Special shoutout love on this day to my mother, and especially my amazing wife for all she does for our family- including letting me watch the Knicks on Mother’s Day. Besides being super smart, beautiful and hardworking, she’s letting me watch this on her day. That’s love!
Hope you celebrate those that do it all!

It is with profound sadness that I mourn George Gresham, a fierce advocate for the working class and a constituent. George dedicated his life to the belief that every worker deserves dignity, respect, and a seat at the table.
As President of 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, he led with a tireless passion, securing the fair wages, healthcare, and continuing education that his union brothers and sisters deserved. Under his leadership, 1199SEIU secured industry-leading job and benefit standards for healthcare workers and led the its growth to more than 450,000 members throughout the nation.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to George’s family, his friends, and his 1199SEIU family in mourning. George was a cherished friend, mentor, leader, and constituent who will be sorely missed. We have lost a powerhouse, but his lifelong legacy of unwavering commitment to the marginalized and the underserved will continue to inspire us all.

Today’s breaking ground of a new mini-pitch at P.S. 112 Bronxwood is one of many opening doors for our children right here in the Bronx. Thank you to FIFA World Cup 26 NYNJ Host Committee, NYC Public Schools, Airbnb, and the US Soccer Foundation, for making this resource for our students happen! By providing safe, vibrant places to play, we are investing in the health, joy, and future of the next generation. And who knows- maybe the world’s next star player can learn the beautiful game on this pitch!
