WABC channel 7 chose not to air the second ball drop at Times Square tonight to honor the beginning of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. They said earlier in the program that the ball would drop a second time but didn’t mention the reasoning for it. Those watching assumed it was a surprise. The surprise was the 4 minutes of commercials instead of airing the patriotic confetti and second ball drop. Regardless of your side of the political aisle, the 250th birthday of our great country should be celebrated by all.
