It has been a blast to once again sponsor the Lewisville ISD's INCubator Program at the The Colony High School and mentor students as they bring their business concepts to fruition. Four teams presented their product to the judges in the "Final Pitch" (think Shark Tank) to receive start-up funds. We are happy to play a small role in their journey with Keri Samford, Executive Director of Development serving as a judge, and Diane Lemmons, Assistant Director, mentoring a team. Lewisville ISD

The City supported the American Legion Holley-Riddle Post 21 2026 Clyde Ding Memorial Golf Classic...and ended up with the win! It was a great event at The Tribute Lakeside Golf & Resort Community, and we thank Post 21 for all that you do for our community.

We join the City in welcoming Chief Shannon Stephens back to our community!

News Release: The Colony Hires Next Fire Chief

On behalf of the City of The Colony, City Manager Troy Powell is proud to announce the hiring of Shannon Stephens as The Colony Fire Department’s (TCFD) next Fire Chief.

Chief Stephens previously served with TCFD for 24 years, reaching the rank of Assistant Fire Chief which he held for several years, before serving as Fire Chief of Harker Heights, Texas, and most recently Princeton, Texas.

Our team was proud to participate in the Governor’s Small Business Summit in Allen on April 2, where we were joined by business representatives from The Colony who attended as our guests. It was a valuable day of networking and connecting with the many state resources available to support, equip, and educate Texas job creators.

The Colony EDC received "Excellence in Economic Development" recognition from the Texas Economic Development Council for 2025!

The EDC team had a great time at the City of The Colony's Annual Board and Commission Banquet. The theme was 70's, 80's and 90's, and our group spanned the decades with Brian Buffington taking home the prize for rocking the 70's with style! Thank you to the City Council and City staff for creating a memorable evening for the many wonderful volunteers who serve our community!
