Kindergarten Registration for 2026-27
Calling all NEW upcoming kindergarteners!!
Registration for children entering kindergarten in the Thomaston-Upson County School System for the 2026-2027 school year is now open.
Children who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2026, qualify for next year’s kindergarten program. Some parents may choose to wait another year to register a child with a summer birthday and that is perfectly fine and often encouraged.
To register your child for Kindergarten, please use this link https://campus.upson.k12.ga.us/campus/OLRLogin/upson.
Upon completion of the online registration process, parents should contact the school at 706-647-7540 to schedule an appointment for one of the dates below for your child to be screened for placement.
If your child is in need of an updated Ear, Eye & Dental screening (required for Kindergarten), you are encouraged to come by
ULPS on one of the days below when the Health Department will be present to have this done at a discounted rate. They can bill your insurance or you can pay $25 if you don’t have insurance.
The dates and times for these appointments are listed below. All appointments will be held at Upson-Lee Primary School.
● Thursday, March 26 - at ULPS 1:00-7:00
● Friday, April 3 - 9:00-12:00
● Friday, April 17 at ULPS - 9:00-2:00 (Upson Health Dept. will be here to do discounted Vision/Hearing/Dental
Exams until 4:45 this day.)
● Thursday, April 30 at ULPS - 9:00-2:00
● Tuesday, May 5 at ULPS - 1:00-7:00 pm
● Monday, May 11 - 9:00-2:00 (Upson Health Dept. will be here to do discounted Vision/Hearing/Dental Exams
until 4:45 this day.)
● Additional dates will be opened later as needed. However, we encourage you to make one of the above appointments in order to ensure your child gets placed on a teacher’s roster timely.
The parent must bring the child and all required documentation to the appointment (even if it has been uploaded, to ensure
legible copies are received.)
● An Official Birth Certificate. Students enrolling in the Kindergarten program must be five years of age on or before
September 1, 2026.
● Proof of Residency. The documents should include the name of the parent or guardian enrolling the student (or the name of
the emancipated minor) and a street address. A list of acceptable documents can be found at
https://www.upson.k12.ga.us/page/enrolling-in-t-u-schools
● A Georgia Certificate of Immunization. By state law, a valid certificate of immunization or a notarized Affidavit of
Religious Exemption is required for enrollment. The certificate of immunization must be completed by the health department
or your healthcare provider.
● Evidence of Vision, Hearing, and Dental Certificate. This information should be on a current Georgia Form 3300(rev.
2013), available from the health department or your physician and dated within the last 12 months.
● A Photo ID. The person enrolling a student should provide proper identification. This identification may include a driver’s
license, a state identification card, a passport, or other official photo identification, such as an ID card obtained through an
official government agency or consulate.
● The Child’s Social Security Number. State law requires that schools ask for this number at the time of enrollment. Students
will be enrolled, even if the number is not provided. However, parents will be asked to sign a waiver if the child does not
