✨New team member alert✨

Meet Alexis Savage who recently joined our Kent & Sharon teams! Alexis is a Northwest Corner native who attended Sharon Center School and HVRHS before earning her bachelor’s degree in psychology and history from St. Lawrence University. 📚

After 13 years working on Wall Street, she decided it was time for a change and returned to Litchfield County. While she originally planned to pursue nursing, after earning her EMT certification, she discovered her passion for EMS & we couldn't be happier that she did. 🚑🚨

Dakota has been a longtime officer with NEFR and has served as our Lieutenant, earning the respect & appreciation of her team and volunteer partners. 🚑

We appreciate the dedication and passion she brings to leadership in everything she does, and we know the team is in good hands. We wish her the best as she steps into this new role, and we know she's going to crush it! 💙

Please join us in welcoming Mike to the Kent Ambulance team! 🚑

Mike brings over seven years of experience as a volunteer firefighter with the Winsted Fire Department & also serves as an EMT in Winsted and Canaan. When he's not working as a first responder, he works as a medical technician at High Watch Recovery Center, performing blood draws, EKGs, and other patient care. 🚨

Emergency services is a second career for Mike. After a decade in the corporate world with a background in chemistry, he made the leap into emergency response and patient care. He’s continuing his education with the goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist. ⚕

Outside of work, Mike is an Eagle Scout, vintage race car driver, and unrepentant nerd. We’re excited to have his experience, curiosity, and dedication on our team. Welcome aboard, Mike! 💙

Winsted Open House — Part Two! 🎉🎉

A few more moments from an incredible day with our local community, first responders, and NEFR families! ❤️

At NEFR, strong partnerships are at the heart of what we do. We’re proud to work alongside our volunteer organizations that dedicate their time to serving their neighbors & strengthening their communities.

This was a great example of what that looks like, fostering those relationships, and being part of the communities that we serve, both on and off the ambulance.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, brought their families, met our crews, and helped make the Open House such a great day. We loved getting to share a little bit of what we do with all of you! 🚑❤️

Winsted Open House — Part One! 🎉

NEFR was proud to join our Winsted partners for their Open House and spend the day connecting with members of the community! ❤️

EMT Angela B. worked alongside our Winsted volunteers to help organize this awesome event, bringing together first responders, families, and community members. It was a fun day of education, activities, and a behind-the-scenes look at the people and equipment that help serve the Winsted community.

In recognition of her exemplary work & continued dedication to our team, Angela was presented with a challenge coin by BC Ryan B. 🏆

🍰If that wasnt enough, the day also happened to fall on Angela’s birthday, so the team was able to celebrate with her 🎂

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day such a special day!

Every month, our leadership team comes together with one goal: to keep learning, growing, and becoming better leaders for the people we serve and work alongside.

This month, we were grateful to have one of our Volunteer Department Officers Mark Gentile. join us to share his knowledge on patient care documentation, billing, and the important details surrounding both that many EMS providers don’t often get the opportunity to learn. 📊⚕

A special thank you to Tonie’s Fund for generously providing this educational opportunity, and to Mark for taking the time to share his experience with our team.

We’re proud of our leaders for continuing to show up, ask questions, and invest in their own growth so they can better support the teams they lead. Great leadership never stops learning. 🚨
