Mission: The mission of the Thomaston Main Street Program is to promote, preserve and enhance the historic charm and integrity of the community and to reinforce the downtown as the city's heartbeat by utilizing the 4 - Point Approach of the National Main Street Program. Design: Our mission is to create an inviting, aesthetically appealing, and safe downtown for both residents and non-residents to enjoy. Promotions: Our goal is to provide Thomaston with a unique experience through a combination of arts, entertainment, and festivals. Economic Vitality: Our mission is to repurpose vacant properties to help stimulate downtown business growth through redevelopment and investment. Organization: To cover all 4 points of the Main Street approach by collaborating with the Downtown Development Authority, Historic Preservation Commission, the City of Thomaston and other public, private, and non-profit community stakeholders. Additionally, to promote and strengthen downtown Thomaston by providing active support, leadership, incentives, resources, and opportunities that result in historic preservation, beautification, economic growth, and development.
