Tremendous news for the State of Georgia, Peach County, and the Central Georgia region.

Audi AG is planning its first U.S. manufacturing facility in the State of Georgia, an approximately $4 billion state-of-the-art investment at the Middle Georgia Megasite that will deliver 4,500 new jobs to the entire region over the next several years.

Developed and marketed by local and state partners for a high-caliber automotive manufacturer, the Middle Georgia Megasite is realizing its vision to position the region as a premier hub for innovation and industry. These efforts have been empowered by regional collaboration, such as the formation of the Mid-Georgia Gateway JDA.

In choosing Georgia at the end of its nationwide search, Audi cited speed-to-market, workforce, access to consumer markets, and proximity to an established automotive supply chain as key reasons for its decision.

Heavy Equipment Mechanic:

Position Overview
Coggins Construction Company, LLC is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep our grading, boring and utility fleet running safely and efficiently. You will diagnose, maintain and repair excavators, articulated trucks, dozers and other heavy machinery, along with our commercial and light-duty trucks, both in the shop and in the field.

• Employment type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
• Diagnostics and troubleshooting: Use computerized diagnostic tools, software and schematics to identify malfunctions in diesel engines, transmissions, and electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Preventive maintenance: Perform routine servicing, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, lubrication and safety inspections.
• Repairs and overhauls: Disassemble, repair or replace worn and broken components, and test equipment after major overhauls.
• Field service and travel: Travel to job sites and remote locations to service and repair machinery on-site.
• Documentation and compliance: Keep detailed service logs, record parts used, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Education: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of a vocational program, trade school or apprenticeship in diesel technology or heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience repairing heavy-duty machinery, commercial trucks and light-duty trucks.
• Certifications and licenses: Valid driver’s license required. A Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
• Physical demands: Ability to lift heavy parts (up to 75–100 lbs), stand or bend for long periods, work in extreme weather conditions, and safely use specialized hand and power tools.

Another great Southeast in the books!
A great couple of days of connections, conversations, and valuable industry insights.

From evolving store formats and a greater focus on new construction to increased use of local brokers who know individual markets and can help identify and evaluate sites, smaller store prototypes designed for smaller markets, localized site selection, and renewed interest in acquisitions and redevelopment.

These conversations help us better understand how our communities can position themselves for new opportunities. As always, it was great to see our community partners over the last two days.
