Gooooooood Evening Thomaston! What a beautiful fall day we had today!

Let’s have a quick traffic light talk!

While we understand that the Main St/Beechwood/Knox St traffic light is REALLY annoying…and sometime does not function properly, the light WILL reset itself after a few minutes…it is currently functioning properly and traffic is flowing as it should.

I know this is an inconvenience for some, but also, as everyone knows…Main St in Thomaston between 330-530pm… is just plain busy…there’s no other way to describe it! It’s high traffic times coupled with a 3 way intersection and 2 pedestrian crossings and lots of cars and people trying to “get around”.

The last point I want to make is…although I realize it is HIGHLY annoying and a small inconvenience to some to be “delayed” because of traffic….it is NOT a valid reason to call 911!! This is not a “true emergency” and calling 911 only creates unnecessary “chaos” for our dispatchers.

If you need to report a traffic light issue…please only use the “non emergency” dispatch line…

That number is 207-593-9132.

Thank You all and have a fantastic rest of your week!!

Hey Mom… uh Dad… a nice lady found me wandering on Beechwood Street in the area of the tavern. She took me to the police station. Officer Vitale is taking me to Pope Memorial Humane Society where I will be safe until you can come and bail me out. If you might know my parents, please let them know I’m safe and to come get me!

Today, the Thomaston Maine Police Department joins communities across our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

We remember the firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, and countless other first responders who ran toward unimaginable danger while others were trying to escape it. They answered the call without knowing what awaited them, driven by a commitment to protect, serve, and save lives.

Among those lost at the World Trade Center were 441 first responders, including 343 members of the FDNY, 37 officers of the Port Authority Police Department, 23 officers of the NYPD, and 38 members of other responding agencies. Each left behind families, friends, colleagues, and communities forever changed by their sacrifice.

We also remember the many first responders who survived that day but later lost their lives, and those who continue to live with illnesses connected to their service and recovery efforts in the days, months, and years that followed.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness have not been forgotten.

Today, we pause for the lives taken too soon, the families forever changed, and the first responders who showed the world what it means to put the lives of others before your own.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Goooood Morning Thomaston! It’s starting to feel a little bit like fall out there!

We are back with another update on TPDs stats! I know, I know… I’ve been a little sporadic with the updates thru the summer, but it’s been busy! We’ve re designed and revamped a little bit to make things cleaner and simpler! This will make it easier for continued “regular” monthly updates!

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable rest of the week!

As always, TPD is here for you 24/7/365 if you should find yourself in a situation where you need some assistance!
