An Open Door Adoption Agency An Open Door Adoption Agency, Inc.--Providing adoption planning for women with unexpected pregnancies

An Open Door Adoption Agency is a Christian, not-for-profit adoption agency, founded in 1986 to provide a positive alternative for unplanned pregnancy. The agency has since expanded its role to include that of finding Christian adoptive parents for foreign orphan children. Thousands of infants, older children & sibling groups are eagerly waiting for parents of their own. An Open Door Adoption Agency is a licensed adoption agency in the State of Georgia. We were initially licensed to place children for adoption through the Georgia Department of Human Services in July 1987. For the past thirty-four years, the Georgia Department of Human Services has conducted annual re-licensure audits. Our most recent re-licensure audit was performed on October 7, 2021, and our license was renewed once again. We have been Hague accredited which is required for international adoptions since 2008. The accreditation process to remain Hague accredited is very stringent and agencies must demonstrate compliance with multiple standards over a period of many years in order to retain this designation. We are also an accredited business with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Our agency specializes in domestic and international adoptions. To date, 1,630 domestic children have been placed through our agency, including special needs children, and we have placed over 1,000 international children with forever families. In addition, An Open Door Adoption Agency is a proud member of the following organizations:

- National Council for Adoption (NCFA)
- Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA)
- Council on Accreditation (COA)

Waiting Child Spotlight ✨

Open Door Adoption is currently seeking a family for a 9-year-old boy in need of a patient, supportive, and loving home.

He has overcome early medical challenges, including cleft palate repair, and continues to make steady progress in his development. He has some hearing loss and speech delays, but his communication is improvingβ€”he is forming sentences, following complex instructions, and growing more confident in expressing himself.

He is active and enjoys movementβ€”running, jumping, and climbingβ€”and thrives in environments where he feels comfortable. He especially enjoys playing with others, participating in games, and engaging in imaginative, role-playing activities. He is learning to take turns, follow routines, and connect with those around him.

He is also gaining independence in his daily life, managing tasks like eating and personal care on his own.

He would do best in a family that can provide consistency, encouragement, and a nurturing environment where he can continue to grow and build confidence.

Open Door Adoption is currently seeking a family for a 3-year-old girl in need of a loving, committed home.

She has significant medical needs, including spina bifida and hydrocephalus (treated with a shunt), as well as epilepsy that is managed with medication. She also has cerebral palsy, paralysis affecting her lower body, and orthopedic conditions involving her hip and foot. Additional diagnoses include cortical blindness, feeding challenges requiring support, and global developmental delays.

She requires full-time care and assistance with all daily needs. While her medical needs are complex, she responds to gentle, consistent interactionβ€”finding comfort in soothing voices, songs, and touch, and occasionally expressing herself through small smiles and soft sounds.

She deserves a family who will provide stability, compassion, and lifelong care.

Waiting Child Spotlight πŸ’™

Meet a sweet 4-year-old boy who is waiting for a loving, forever family.
This little boy has been diagnosed with childhood autism and is making progress every day. He is active and mobile, walking and running independently while exploring the world around him with curiosity. He especially enjoys musical toys, playing with balls, and spending time with other children.

His joyful personality shines through in many ways. He laughs when others engage him with playful expressions and gestures, smiles at his reflection in the mirror, and shows affection toward the adults he trusts. He uses several words, including "mom," "dad," "grandma," and "eat," and continues to benefit from supportive therapies that help him grow and develop.

Currently living with a foster family, he thrives in familiar environments and enjoys exploring his surroundings. While he continues to work on communication, feeding, and daily living skills, he has already shown meaningful progress and would benefit from the stability, encouragement, and unconditional love of a forever family.

Learning about adoption or foster care doesn’t mean you’re committing to anything. It simply gives you the opportunity to ask questions, understand the process, and discover what might be right for your family.

Talk with an adoption or foster care professional, attend an informational meeting, and give yourself permission to learn as you go.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to take the first step. 🀍
