Yesterday, October 14, Thomasville Fire & Rescue joined public safety agencies, healthcare partners, city departments, and community volunteers for Operation Silver Rail, a multiagency emergency response training exercise hosted in Thomasville.
The exercise featured 40 simulated patients and gave participants an opportunity to practice hazardous-materials response, patient assessment, decontamination, transportation, hospital coordination, and city-department support. From the initial response through hospital reception, the event emphasized communication, teamwork, coordinated patient care, and the importance of preparing together before a real emergency occurs.
