🖤 Remembering Chief William “Wink” Brown

Williamson County Fire/Rescue joins the fire service community in mourning the passing of former Chief William “Wink” Brown.

Chief Brown’s legacy of service in Williamson County spans more than five decades. He began with the Williamson County Rescue Squad in 1974 and served as Chief from 1983 to 1986. During his years with the Rescue Squad, he was instrumental in establishing fire stations in Leiper’s Fork and Fairview.

In 1987, he became the founding Chief of the Arrington Fire Department, serving in that role until 1998. His influence extended throughout Tennessee through his service with the Tennessee Commission on Firefighting Personnel Standards and Education and leadership roles with numerous fire service organizations.

Chief Brown dedicated his life to strengthening the fire service, developing firefighters, and serving communities across Tennessee. His impact can still be seen in the departments he helped build, the firefighters he influenced, and the countless friendships he formed throughout his career.

We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Kiki, his family, friends, and all those throughout the fire service who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him.

Thank you for a lifetime of service, Chief Brown.

Rest easy, Chief. We’ll take it from here. 🚒🖤
