๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ REMEMBERING 9/11 โ€” 25 YEARS LATER ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

At 0745 hours this morning, Thornton Police Officers and Thornton Firefighters gathered at Village Hall for a moment of silence to reflect on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost, the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the countless first responders who answered the call that day.

Today, we pause to honor their courage, sacrifice, and service. We also remember the families, friends, and communities forever changed by that tragic day.

We will never forget. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Please take a moment today to thank a police officer, firefighter, paramedic, military member, or other first responder for their service and sacrifice.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ WE WILL NEVER FORGET ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, September 11, 2026, marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost, the families forever changed, and the courage displayed by the countless first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away.

We remember the police officers, firefighters, paramedics, military members, and everyday Americans who answered the call that dayโ€”and those who continue to serve and protect our communities today.

The Thornton Police Department will never forget.

Today, we ask our residents to take a moment to remember and reflect. And if you see a police officer, firefighter, paramedic, dispatcher, or other first responder, please take a moment to simply say:

โ€œThank you for your service.โ€

Those words mean more than you may realize.
