Established in 1949 as the Three Lakes Community Library.

The Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library building was built in 1971 and given as a gift to the Town of Three Lakes from the family of Edward U. Demmer to provide space for the growing collection and programs of the Three Lakes Community Library. The Story Hour program, established in 1964, moved into the library's lower level, where it has provided early childhood education to children ages 3 - 5 for more than 50 years. The Demmer Library Trust, Three Lakes Public Library Foundation, and the Friends of the Demmer Library provide ongoing private funding and volunteer support to the library. With the support of these private funders and $900,000 in public tax levy, a $2.2 million renovation and expansion of the Edward U. Demmer library building was completed in 2019.

Heading to Three Lakes Pumpkin Fest on October 10? Make a stop at Clayton’s 1881 Room part of your day! 🎃

From 4-9 PM, enjoy dinner at Clayton’s, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Three Lakes Public Library Foundation to support technology upgrades at Demmer Library. 💻✨
