Baltimore Hunger Project Baltimore Hunger Project, a 501(c)3, removes the barrier to learning by providing food and resources to food insecure children in our community.

Inspired by the story of an organization in Florida that provides weekend nutrition packages to elementary school children, we are focusing on Baltimore City and County elementary schools with a high percentage of students who qualify for FARM by discreetly providing them with packages full of a weekend's worth of food. We strongly believe improved nutrition on the weekends enables "at-risk" children to be better prepared to participate in their education.

PLEASE SHARE: This Thanksgiving, we have a big goal: To make sure every BHP family we serve has a Thanksgiving meal to share together.

Baltimore Hunger Project will provide the turkey and roasting pan. Now, we're asking our incredible community to help us fill the bags with everything needed to complete the meal!

Thanksgiving should be a time to gather around the table, enjoy a warm meal, and make memories together — without the added worry of how to put that meal on the table.

We'll provide the turkey. You help fill the table.

Together, we can make Thanksgiving a little brighter for thousands of children and their families across Baltimore.

Today, Constellation employees packed an incredible 2,000 Morning Essentials bags for families served by Baltimore Hunger Project!

Each bag is filled with easy-to-prepare breakfast options to help the whole family start their day with one less worry. When we support families, we help give children the stability they need to come to school ready to learn.

This was the first of several upcoming volunteer events, and we’re so grateful for Constellation’s continued support and dedication to our community!

Here’s an easy way to turn your next dental cleaning into something more.

We’re asking dentists, dental offices, and friends of BHP to save the free toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss given out after cleanings and donate them to Baltimore Hunger Project.

These everyday essentials can make a meaningful difference for the children and families we serve—and it costs nothing extra to help.

Thanks to an incredible group of volunteers, 570 Weekend Food Bags were packed and ready for our students, along with hygiene bags filled with essential items.

The energy in the warehouse was amazing—and so was the impact. Every bag packed means one more child has the food and resources they need to show up ready to learn.

Hunger can be easy to overlook. That’s exactly why we’re asking our community to make it visible.

Grab a plate. Take a photo. Tell us why you are holding it. Tag someone else to keep it going.

And don’t stop there.

Today, this empty plate becomes something more.

Baltimore Hunger Project begins another year of providing weekend food to more than 2,600 students across Baltimore City and County.

Behind every bag is a child.

And behind every bag is also someone who chose to take action.

A volunteer. A donor. A business. A community partner. A board member. Someone who decided they could help.

This Hunger Action Month, take your photo.

Then help us fill one.

$6.90 provides one child with a weekend food bag.

Please Share: An empty plate can say a lot.

For too many children, it represents a weekend when there may not be enough food at home.

This Hunger Action Month, I'm asking you to help us make hunger visible.

Take a photo with an empty plate. Share why ending childhood hunger matters to you. Tag Baltimore Hunger Project and challenge 2–3 others to do the same.

I'll start.

I'm holding this plate for the thousands of children in our community who deserve to walk into school focused on learning—not worrying about their next meal.

But I don't want this to stop with a photograph.

After you post, take one action.

Give $6.90 to provide a weekend food bag. Volunteer. Donate food. Start a food drive. Invite someone new into this work.

This weekend, the North Baltimore County Cluster and Hub of the United Methodist Church came together to pack more than 2,500 snack bags for Baltimore Hunger Project, led by Pastor Scott Shumaker.

And the generosity didn’t stop there. First Fruits Farm, Inc. lent a truck to make sure every bag made its way to our warehouse today.

These bags will soon be in the hands of students who need them—because something as simple as a snack can help a child get through the day ready to learn.

We are so grateful to everyone who packed, organized, lifted, loaded and delivered. This is what community looks like.
