Capt. Dana Horn plays a vital role in sustaining America’s airpower at Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex. Whether managing depot-level maintenance, logistics or complex repair efforts, her work helps ensure warfighters have reliable aircraft and systems worldwide. Horn is featured as part of the Air Force Sustainment Center’s “What is Sustainment” campaign, which highlights the essential contributions of the men and women who sustain America’s airpower.

✈️ **One grounded F-16. An entire fleet that keeps flying.**

When this Fighting Falcon was permanently grounded, AFSC maintainers from the 309th Aircraft Maintenance Group at Hill AFB didn’t let it go to waste. They deployed, surgically deconstructed the jet, and harvested critical parts — wings, avionics, hydraulics, and more — to feed the supply chain and keep other F-16s mission-ready.

That’s smart sustainment in action. One jet becomes a force multiplier for the rest of the fleet.

Team AFSC,

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001—a milestone that calls on us to reflect on how profoundly our Nation and our Air Force have evolved over the past quarter-century.

The events of that day shaped the security environment in which many of us have served. They also reinforced the importance of being ready to respond when our Nation calls.

For our Air Force, that readiness depends on the people and organizations behind the mission. Aircraft must be maintained, parts must be available, software must perform, installations must be secure, and our supply chains must be able to respond when needed.

Over the last 25 years, the AFSC team and our organic industrial base have sustained the fight across dynamic global challenges. While the operational environment continues to shift, our core mission remains unchanged: delivering the combat power, infrastructure, and sustainment our warfighters rely on every day.

I encourage each of you to take five minutes today within your work centers to reflect with your teammates on how 9/11 shaped your perspective and what drives your dedication to service.

🧑‍💼Two of our Air Force Sustainment Center teammates highlighted their experiences, lessons learned, and best practices from industry that could benefit the Air Force following the culmination of their competitive assignments as part of the Training With Industry program.

The TWI program places civilian employees in industry environments related to their career fields. Fellows gain advanced managerial skills, technical expertise, and exposure to industry’s best practices, equipping them to return to to their units with innovative ideas, new perspectives, and actionable insights to strengthen Air Force processes and mission effectiveness.

Thank you to Roy Jenkins, a master scheduler with the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, and Sherry Tircuit, a cyber security engineer with the 76th Software Engineering Group, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma for highlighting their tour experiences for our teams!
